So called "Peace Jade" is not actually Jade at all, but a mixture of white quartz, green serpentine and lavender stitchtite.
It gets its name from the belief that the stone brings tranquility and peace.
These lovely beads are subtle shades of spring and forest green with swirls of paler green that is sometimes almost white and occasional hints of pale purple.
The central coins have lovely markings on both side, and can be worn with either side showing.
Each stone is unique.
New Jade is a pale, 'celery heart' green, and again is not Jade, but a form of Serpentine.

Full description
The centrepiece of this pretty green necklace is a row of five 12mm Peace Jade coins, separated with Swarovski crystal bicones and bracketed on either side by a trio of sparkly Swarovski crystals, set between tiny 2mm gold vermeil spacer beads.
The Swarovski crystals are 4mm long in the colours 'jonquil' and 'Provence lavender' (pale lemon and light purple).
They add a lovely glitter to the necklace.
The necklace graduates to alternating 4mm Peace Jade rounds and 4mm New Jade, and finishes with a rose toggle clasp.
This clasp is easy to fasten, has an antique gold finish and is nickel and lead free.
The Peace Jade coins are a pale, sage green colour, overlaid with darker green markings and an occasional glint of lavender, and no two are alike.
The fresh green and yellow hues are reminiscent of Spring, and this would make a lovely Easter gift, or accessory for a Spring wedding.
This necklace measures just under 16 inches (40cm).
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
