Full description

This hand crafted yew wood ballpoint pen is made on Sanday, Orkney Islands. Another of my gorgeous twist pens, it has yellow gold plate metal components, and like all my two-piece twist pens, the two halves of the pen are rotated in opposite directions to propel and retract the writing nib.

Hand crafted in my studio overlooking the sea, the wood came from a 400 year old tree that got damaged in a storm, and has spent 20 years maturing in my workshop. The colour of yew varies greatly through the wood, from an orange-brown to light tan and dark brown - this pen has a dark tan and brown grain complimented by the yellow gold plate of the tip, clip, centre band and top finial.

I have turned the barrels to be widest at the centre, giving the pen a neutral balance in use. It uses a Cross refill (black ink supplied) which is replaced by simply pulling the two halves of the pen apart and unscrewing the end of the refill, with no little springs to loose.

Postage and packing are included in the price.
