Hares feature heavily in myth and folklore and i've always loved fairytale illustration,especially russian folk painting so this was inspired by both my love of hares and that kind of dark folk art asthetic. Here they are involved with fighting which is a usual pre mating scenario and is possibly the origin of the mad march hare, these two are certainly "moonkissed"
