Amethyst (purple quartz) is the birthstone for Aquarius and February, and the stone for the 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries.
Amethyst is also associated with St Valentine.
It was believed he wore an amethyst ring engraved with a cupid to enable young soldiers to recognise him.
Emperor Claudius 11, believing married men made bad soldiers, had forbidden soldiers to wed, but Valentine would conduct secret marriage ceremonies.
The Emperor had him beheaded circa A.D. 270.

A pretty stretch bracelet for lovers of purple.
Deep purple, highly polished Amethyst nuggets and sparkly 'violet' Swarovski crystals, highlighted with tiny gold vermeil beads, are set between trios of 6mm frosted Sage Amethyst.
The Amethyst nuggets vary in size and shape, but are approximately 10x5mm, with a deep colour and lovely shine.
Sage amethyst is a type of amethyst, sometimes called "banded", "chevron" or "dog tooth" amethyst, that is purple quartz mixed with swirls of white quartz giving beautiful cloudy patterns that have also led to the name "dream amethyst".
The 'violet' 4mm Swarovski bicones add a subtle sparkle and the gold vermeil, which is sterling silver that has been plated with 18k gold, add a bright, golden gleam.
This bracelet measures approximately 6.75 inches (17cm).
Your bracelet will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
