Peridot is the traditional birthstone for August and Leo.
It is the transparent form of the mineral Olivine, and was mined by the ancient Egyptians, who called it 'the gem of the sun'.
These AAA grade micro-faceted beads have a vibrant yellow-green hue.
Peridot is considered to be a stone of warmth and well-being.
Black Onyx is a Zodiac stone for Leo.
It is believed to be a protective stone, promoting strong support, stamina and determination.
Prehnite is a modern birthstone for August.
It was discovered in Cape Province, South Africa in 1788, and was originally called Cape Emerald.
The natives of Cape Province believed it acted as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds, strengthening the divinatory powers of the wearer.
It is still used as a 'dream stone', to increase the power and lucidity of the dream state.

Full description
Striking necklace featuring a 1.5 inch (4cm) pendant centrepiece.
The pendant has an 8x10mm nugget of semi-translucent green Prehnite with black epidote inclusions, topped with a 6mm black Onyx, 7mm Tibetan star and four 3.5mm, micro-faceted AAA grade Peridot beads.
The pendant sits at the centre of a string of 6mm black Onyx beads separated by more AAA grade Peridot.
These are a vibrant yellow-green and have a lovely sparkle.
A few Tibetan gold stars, nickel and lead free, add shine and emphasise the colour of the Peridot.
The necklace graduates to smaller 4mm black Onyx and New Jade beads.
New Jade is a pale 'celery' green, and is not actually jade but a form of Serpentine.
I have finished the piece with a Tibetan rose toggle clasp with a gold finish.
This is also nickel and lead free, and is easy to fasten.
This glittery necklace measures approximately 16 inches (41cm).
Presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
