Peridot is the traditional birthstone for August and Leo.
It is the transparent form of the mineral Olivine, and was mined by the ancient Egyptians, who called it 'the gem of the sun'.
These AAA grade micro-faceted beads have a vibrant yellow-green hue.
Peridot is considered to be a stone of warmth and well-being.
Black Onyx is a Zodiac stone for Leo.
It is believed to be a protective stone, promoting strong support, stamina and determination.
Prehnite is a modern birthstone for August.
It was discovered in Cape Province, South Africa in 1788, and was originally called Cape Emerald.
The natives of Cape Province believed it acted as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds, strengthening the divinatory powers of the wearer.
It is still used as a 'dream stone', to increase the power and lucidity of the dream state.
