January Birthstone - Garnet
Garnet is the traditional birthstone for Capricorn and the month of January.
The term Garnet actually applies to a group of minerals that are related in composition and structure, but differ in colour.
The beads I have used here are Rhodolite Garnet with a rich, raspberry pink colour, faceted to give a lovely sparkle.
Legend has it that Garnets bring peace, health and prosperity into the home.
Warriors wore Garnets into battle as a talisman of protection, healers wore them to ward off disease, and Garnet later became regarded as a symbol of deep and everlasting friendship.

Full description
Dainty, sparkly, genuine Garnet necklace featuring rows of seven Rhodolite Garnet beads separated with 1.8mm rose gold vermeil spacers.
Each row of seven beads consists of a central A grade 4mm round Garnet, bracketed by AAA grade 3.5mm faceted beads, 3mm A grade round beads and 2mm A grade faceted beads.
The necklace graduates to 3mm round Garnets separated by 5mm Garnet bicones and rose vermeil spacers.
The faceted beads are a deep raspberry colour with a lovely sparkle, emphasised by the rose gold shine.
I have added a pendant centrepiece made from a 4mm round Garnet topped with a graduated trio of faceted Garnets, separated by tiny 1.8mm rose gold vermeil spacers.
These beads are threaded onto rose gold vermeil wire and attached to the necklace with a rose gold vermeil bail.
Rose gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with rose gold.
The pendant measures approximately 1.5 inches (3.5cm) long.
The necklace fastens with a simple rose gold plated toggle clasp.
Hand made in my home workshop, here in beautiful Devon UK, this would make a lovely gift for a birthday, especially a January birthday, anniversary, Mothers Day, Valentine's gift, or as a special treat for yourself.
Garnet is the birthstone for January and Capricorn.
This necklace measures approximately 16 inches (40.5cm), excluding the pendant.
