Full description
An original wet and needle felted artwork depicting a young rhino in the African plains.
Handmade in merino wool and silk fibres this piece of art represents one in my series of ‘I need space…’ Hoping to raise awareness of endangered wildlife from around the world, I have created several one-off poster style artworks.
Rhinos are endangered due to being hunted for their horn, mistakenly believed to have medicinal powers. This little rhino has metallic gold fibres felted into his horn as a metaphor for this idea.
The finished felt has been mounted onto A2 mount board ready for you to frame and enjoy.
The edges of the felt have been left raw and uneven as is traditional to reveal the handcrafted process.
This mount board has some slight damage to the top left corner as pictured. It would not be noticeable when framed but I have reduced the price to reflect this small fault.
