Freesias were my mum's favourite flowers, and the ones I had in my wedding bouquet. Their fragrance is just gorgeous!
I created this image in April taking part in a lovely Instagram challenge, A Month In Flowers (check it out using the hashtag).
You will see from the last image I created a sketchbook page, a bookmark (for the 100 Day Project and a charity fundraiser!) as well as the freesias in a vase.
I often paint papers to use a collage fodder in future projects, and this was where the piece for the vase came from. It had been sitting in my drawer for a while awaiting it's opportunity.

Freesias in a vase is a recent paper collage combining the beautiful flowers with the vase created out of a separate painted paper.
This takes the theme of evergreen to a new level!
Each freesia stem and flower is watercolour painted and cut out separately before assembling together.
The still life is brought together by painting out some of the indigo paper background with white ink and placing the flowers in the vase on top.
It will make a beautiful wall art gift, for yourself or someone else!
The listing is for the unframed, unmounted paper collage finished with torn edges.
This original, one-of-a-kind artwork measures approximately 15.5 x 27cm.
It will be posted securely wrapped in a compostable cello wrap with card and recycled packaging for protection. If you can reuse the packaging please do :)
