Agate is a form of Chalcedony, part of the Quartz family, and gets its name from the River Achates, in Sicily, where it was first found.
It is one of the oldest known minerals, used by the ancient Sumerians and Egyptians for ornaments and amulets.
I love the patterns and subtle hues to these beads.
Each one has a different colouration and design, making this bracelet truly unique.
Agate is the ancient birthstone for June and Gemini, whilst pearl is the traditional birthstone.

Dainty little bracelet made from 4mm banded Agate and 5mm cream Swarovski glass pearl beads.
The striped Agate are highly polished, and semi-opaque, with a slightly milky appearance.
They and range in colour from light brown, to pinky-brown, to pale grey with a hint of mauve, and some have subtle bands of darker brown.
The Swarovski pearls have a lovely lustre and add shine.
The bracelet is finished with an 8mm striped Agate donut.
This delicate, stretch bracelet measures approximately 6.75 inches (17cm).
Presented in a small organza gift bag.
