The Kindred Collection in black high fired stoneware is inspired by archaeological Minoan and Cycladic archaeological finds. The abstract motifs I create have a more modern twist, inspired by textiles from the first part of the 20th century. Formed by manipulating soft sheets of clay, each member of the Kindred family is different in form and decoration.

Full description
An original piece of hand made ceramic art to give an innovative look to your living space. Named Charlie, this piece is part of the Kindred Collection of black stoneware ceramics, each one different, with its own personality, yet each part of the family of collectable pieces. Charlie is a broad shouldered semi figurative piece in matt black - the natural surface of the fired clay - with abstract design decorative motifs in yellow, blue, pale green and grey. Standing 15 cms high and 9 cms across the shoulders, the form can also provide a meditative focus in mindfulness or yoga practice. A good stand-alone piece, or why not start a Kindred family? Underneath is my potter’s mark of a swallow in flight.
