PLEASE NOTE
I AM UPDATING PRODUCT BOXES FOR JEWELLERY AND DECORATIONS WHICH WILL TAKE AWHILE, IF YOU PURCHASE YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR ORDER IN THE NEW BOXES AS DESCRIBED BELOW.
Jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Jewellery box inserts are made from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp industry. All paper, card, glue, inks and delivery boxes used are made from recycled materials.
I love collecting things discarded, lost, forgotten, damaged or just not wanted any more. My favourite places are rivers and beaches, but also find great things at recycling centres and charity shops. I’m lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-created into something new. Bits and bobs of lives all waiting to find new homes.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Additional terms
Hand crafted Jewellery and framed artworks using pre loved and discarded ceramics. Ceramic material will show signs of wear and damage. Entire process is a creative experience from discovery to final picture, nothing planned or preconceived. All materials personally collected from river banks, charity shops, roadside, woods, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each titled piece comes with bio of where the ceramic came from, known history, original information and when the artwork was created. Some ceramics collected are used as found, while others are cut randomly which will shape the final picture. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Broken Plate
Discovered
Barnard Castle
April 2019
Re-Created
Decoration
September 2021
In April 2019 I bought some chipped plates and saucers from my local recycling centre. All sorts of designs and types of ceramic. Instead of choosing designs, patterns or images to work on I put all the plates in a box and drop them. This creates random shapes and often splits patterns in way that is more exciting to work with.
This wall hanging/decoration is made from a cracked chunky wall plate, when dropped it broke into several pieces including this amazingly still in tact house. Reminds me of a ginger bread house with snow frosting. Sides and back have been sanded and sealed, front glaze as found. This would make a wonderful moving in gift or even a Christmas Tree decoration.
The idea is to create something new from old, the finished piece isn’t meant to be perfect or highly polished. Instead retain part of its original character, marks, scratches, all part of it’s history and journey.
Delivered in gift box, gift bag made with recycled materials and comes with short bio.
Measures 63mm x 45mm x 3mm
Hanging on 50cm recycled twine
