Alongside traditional Alpine Christmas figures such as St Nicholas and the Krampus, there are groups of other figures who come out around the festive season, and this figure focusses on punishing naughty or lazy little girls.
These figures come under the umbrella term "Perchta", and this design is specifically based on the Austrian variety, the Schnabelperchten. Like the Krampus, she may wear a basket to carry off badly behaved little girls, her scissors are for at the very least threatening to disembowel her quarry, and in the extreme, their use, filling their subject with sawdust and sewing them up. A subject of Folk Horror, these little versions could grace anything from decorated trees, to wreaths.

Please note, this listing is for ONE of these Schnabelperchten decorations pictured.
You may be wondering about the figures these decorations are based on, which I will get to, but first, the details.
This conical beaked figure is hand sewn and made from a flexible faux leatherette, coated in a layer of fleece and wears a little cotton head scarf. She has a gingham ribbon to hang from and a burlap strap to hold her scissor charm with!
She will arrive with bubble wrap inside her mouth to protect her structure, but she is super soft and flexible, yet sturdy enough to keep her form if not flattened for long.
Each item measures approx. 6 x 22 x 12 cm (w x h x d)
The ribbon hangs for about 7 of these centimetres and the scissor hanging about 10 cm
All UK-bound items are sent 1st class delivery, signed for. Please contact me if you would prefer another method. All overseas-bound items are standard delivery, again, if you wish to have it tracked, please contact me and I will sort this out, please expect a higher postage cost for this. If you are in the EU, and would like any items, please let me know, I can work out postage but please bear in mind that there will be a charges for customs.
