This stripey cufflinks feature a rounds of colourful surfite which is bezel set in sterling silver and then finished off with sterling silver swivel cuff link backs. The surfite has stripes in shades of green, red and yellow, some of the stripes are colourless and light can reflect off the back of the setting. Measure approx 17mm diameter and the tops are 5mm thick, they have a smooth flat top so they don't snag when being worn under a jacket. The swivel backs make them easy to put on.
Not come across surfite before? Its the name given to layered up waste of epoxy resin that forms during the glassing stage of making surfboards (that's when they cover the foam core in resin), normally this waste material get thrown out but people have started realising that it has a beauty all of its own and recycling it into things like jewellery. This material came from a workshop in California and I cut and polished it myself (you can see a slice of the rough in one of the photos but its not included in the sale) so if you love the idea of surfite but want something else drop me a message. Come gift boxed ready for giving to the surfer in your life.
