Formerly 'Buttons, Beads and Blanket Stitch'.
My work predominantly comprises hand cut and burnished lino prints, with sewing playing an occasional part.
Whether working in print or in stitch, I am inspired by the natural world and the people around me, with words/text frequently playing an integral part.

This print was inspired by a lovely little bird feeder in our garden and is a celebration of nature, of nurture, of new beginnings and the cycle of life.

Our little Green Man bird feeder rests on the wall, nestled amongst the ivy with his outstretched hands full of bird seed for the garden’s many feathered visitors.
Once I had decided on my final design for this print, it was transferred onto lino which was hand cut and then hand burnished in black ink onto a beautiful lime coloured ‘Lokta’, a stunning paper handmade in Nepal. The inconsistencies from paper to paper are a big part of the beauty and charm of this handmade surface.
The paper measures approx. 25cm x 37cm, with the printed image itself measuring approx. 16cm x 25cm.
Each of this open-ended edition is signed and dated 2021 and having been printed by hand, slight variations from print to print will occur; such is the beauty of a unique, hand crafted piece.
Your print will be posted to you wrapped in tissue and rolled within a cardboard tube. On its arrival, remove the print from the tube and allow it time to unfurl. (Lying the print on a flat surface under a heavy book may help to speed up the flattening process – do not be tempted to roll the print in the opposite way as this will almost certainly result in creasing and possibly damaging the print).
