Formerly 'Buttons, Beads and Blanket Stitch'.
My work predominantly comprises hand cut and burnished lino prints, with sewing playing an occasional part.
Whether working in print or in stitch, I am inspired by the natural world and the people around me, with words/text frequently playing an integral part.

This print is a celebration of nature, of nurture, of new beginnings and the cycle of life.

Full description
This print was inspired by a lovely bird feeder in our garden. The Green Man rests against the wall, nestled amongst the ivy with his outstretched hands full of bird seed for the garden’s many feathered (and sometimes furry) visitors.
I have worked on multiple ideas around this same theme, with ‘Garden Guardian’ the second version to come to fruition. (The original 'Green Guardian' has been discontinued).
Having decided on my final design, it was transferred onto lino which I hand cut and burnished in a lovely raw umber ink onto a beautiful Japanese ‘Shirakaba’ paper. The paper measures approx. A4 size, 21cm x 29.5cm, with the printed image itself measuring approx. 17.5cm x 26.5cm at its widest parts.
Each of this edition of just 10 is numbered, signed and titled and having been printed by hand, slight variations from print to print will occur; such is the beauty of a unique, hand-crafted piece.
Your print will be posted to you flat on a backboard.
