Please enjoy browsing and should you buy a doll she will be packaged in an organza bag. I have been given literally hundreds and will use them until they run out rather than let them go to landfill. Also I have been asked why I don't often repeat combinations of fabric with the dolls. It is because I tend to buy remnant stock where I can, tiny pieces of fabric that are too small for most people to use. So often I have only enough to make one doll. I have been asked a few times for a mermaid and now was the right time to make her. She is dressed or rather her tale is dressed in Thalassophile by Lewis and Irene. A lovely evocation of the beautiful Island in blues, aqua and red.

Full description
This little mermaid doll is made to my own pattern and is new for 2021. She has a hand painted, hand embroidered face with embroidery detail to her breast and hand. Her hair is hand styled wool tops in soft blue, decorated with silver shell charms and tiny pearls.
Her tail is quilted sea themed cotton from Lewis and Irene's Thalassophie range in blues and reds with a coordinating hand dyed scrim sash and a shell, ribbon detailing. The fin of her tail is in coordinating embroidered felt with a scrim detail.
She has lavender to her stuffing for a gentle scent and a piece of sea glass at her heart.
She has a brass ring to her back to hang and a little embroidered tattoo of seaweed.
Pkease remember she is not a toy but a folk art doll for grown ups.
