Wishing You a Merry Christmas and a Joyful New Year. I will be back in January.
Please enjoy browsing and should you buy a doll she will be packaged in an organza bag. I have been given literally hundreds and will use them until they run out rather than let them go to landfill. Also I have been asked why I don't often repeat combinations of fabric with the dolls. It is because I tend to buy remnant stock where I can, tiny pieces of fabric that are too small for most people to use. So often I have only enough to make one doll. Thank you and my warmest wishes xx
Here are some things just listed by other crafters and sellers on Folksy.
My dolls and doll making interests have evolved over the last twenty five years into folk dolls for grown ups. Each one is a labour of love and each one has her own personality. I make one at a time and lavish attention to get my details right. I tried making them in batches but they lost their heart so now each is made individually from start to finish. I rarely repeat combinations, each doll being unique and a one of a kind.
I studied design at university but having done lots and lots of short courses in textiles I had a wonderful confidence boost with a City and Guilds certificate and diploma in Stitched Textiles with Dr Judith Peacock at Lancaster, the old City and Guilds Part 1 and 2. The best four years ever, I learned so much from Judith and my fellow stitchers. I love hand work and have a special interest in counted thread work, developing my own style over the last ten years. I will be offering a very limited number of commission slots each month, so if you want something individual keep an eye out for dates.
