Please enjoy browsing and should you buy a doll she will be packaged in an organza bag. I have been given literally hundreds and will use them until they run out rather than let them go to landfill. Also I have been asked why I don't often repeat combinations of fabric with the dolls. It is because I tend to buy remnant stock where I can, tiny pieces of fabric that are too small for most people to use. So often I have only enough to make one doll. This is a new collection of dolls from my favourite fairy tales and nursery rhymes with the odd favourite character thrown in. They are little girls rather than the women I normally make. Each is a complete one off and while I will revisit the theme I will not be repeating the individual doll. So OOAK.
When I was a little girl I was doll mad. Dolls were my thing and I still have a large collection which I add to regularly! But in 1979 there was a doll I coveted, Strawberry Shortcake. Each od the series was dressed in the berry of her name and each smelled of that fruit. Strawberry Shortcake smelled of strawberries and ooh I wanted one for my own. But my Grandma had got it into her head that because they smelled they must be dangerous with noxious potions on their skin and I was denied! So here is my own Strawberry Shorcake without the noxious potions xx

Full description
This little doll is my Strawberry Shortcake. She is made from quality wool felt with frosted glass bead eyes and curly blond wool roving for hair. Her facial details are hand embroidered and her hair is hand styled. She is dressed in an Acufactum print cotton called Summer Berry and it features lots of rich summer berries on a white ground. Her cotton bonnet is crocheted cotton with a felt flower..
Beneath her dress she has broderie anglais drawers with tiny cotton socks and wool felt boots. Her petticoats are a deep red cotton chambray with white tulle lace. Her apron is heavily hand embroidered with a folk art pattern of strawberries and strawberry flowers. She is finished with tiny buttons and a little embroidery hoop flower. She has rose quartz to her heart and dried strawberry leaves to her stuffing.
Due to fine fabric, button joints and tiny details she is not suitable for children and is not a toy but a decorative item.
