I'm intrigued by the recent studies proving scientifically what we've all always known from personal experience: walking among flowers and plants, in gardens or in the countryside, lowers our stress levels and makes us feel better. Maybe this is one reason why artists and craftspeople constantly return to flowers and plants as a source of inspiration?
I've made several of these Rockery Garden quilts – just imagine what a striking display two or three of them would look hanging side by side on your wall. You'll also find loads more designs featuring flowers in the Enchanted Garden, Garland and Garden Path collections, as well as dotted around in my main shop.

Bright flowers are scattered across this quilt, dotted among the pebbles of a rockery. Hang the design on your wall, or use it as a unique table runner.
The flowers and leaves are in all colours of the rainbow; the curved rocks are all cut from the same variegated batik fabric, which produces lovely serendipitous textures across the different stones.
To make the flowers, leaves and rocks stand out, I bonded them onto a background of neutral grey batik fabric. I then worked double lines of machine quilting in random waves across the quilt, and filled the gaps between the curves with zigzags, all worked in variegated thread.
The edges of the quilt are cut into soft waves, with rounded corners. The quilt is backed in plain white, and then I added a very narrow bias binding in a marbled green cotton fabric.
A hidden casing at the top back will hold your own batten/hanging pole.
The quilt will be sent to you cushioned with reusable bubble-wrap, and packed into a large recyclable jiffy bag. Hanging pole and fixings are not included.
