I've always loved my allotment but it took on even more importance over the past year, and its increasingly been creeping into my art work! To me allotments are beautiful places- the sheds, the crops, the cobbled-together greenhouses, the rusty bits, even the weeds!
My plot has always been just as much about flowers and nature as it has the fruit and veg. This painting was inspired by the height of summer when the calendulas had gone crazy all over the plot.
