I wanted to design a set of contemporary mugs and bowls that would look beautiful and interesting on the table at every mealtime. One that told the origin of how and where they were made

The clay these mugs were made from was dug up from our own island. The spiral handle shows the energy of our lives and the ancient physics of the potters wheel. The glazes reflect the colours that we see in our surrounding lowland pastures and mountains as the seasons change.

Each of my mugs is hand thrown on the wheel and then hand glazed so each is slightly different making each one unique and quirky. You would receive a mug very similar to the one in the photo but may have little differences where the glazes have collected differently or the letter toasted in a slightly different way. Each one will be beautiful.

Full description

Landscape Mug - Mountain lakes and moody skies.

A great mug that can be used for every meal of the day.

I threw this mug on the potters wheel using a strong stoneware clay. I then added the detail and the spiral handle. It was then fired to a bisque before being glazed in three contrasting and complimentary glazes and refired to 1220C.

The colours in this mug include on the inside a mauves and blues, the rim an olive green, and the outside mauves and rich blues.

Dimentions approximately:

Height 10.5cm

Width across rim 8.5m

Mug, Mugs, Cup, Cups, Rustic, Traditional, Contemporary,

Dad, Mum, Uncle, Aunt, Brother, Sister
