Hello and welcome or better still welcome back to my little shop.
I hope you'll find that special thing here in the shop as I make everything by hand, welcoming the differences that these techniques bring.
So if its slick, shiny, bright colours you are looking for, that's really not happening here but warm, funny, happy creature lead pieces - you are in the right place. Step in and take a look around.

Born in the flash and flame of the woodfire kiln, the quiet subtle surface of these little cuties doesn't give any of this away. They are restrained, beautifully speckled where the iron burns through, with just a hint of their toasty origins on the unglazed clay.
Lovely to hold and handle and just chock full of personality.

Full description
These little pottery wrens have a light grey overall colour with a delicate crackle glaze wrapping around them. This is not your average wren; this one has presence.
The carving peeps through the glaze on the wings. It is difficult to show the exact colour and definition of the glaze on the surface, as it is beautifully subtle.
These ceramic wrens would make a lovely gift for anyone who loves birds and enjoys having a reminder of them in their home. They can be used as paperweights, desk ornaments, table decorations or just as reminders of nature as part of a shelf display.
I make my ceramic birds in small batches - not much measuring going on here. I go with the flow on each one, so they are all different and each one is unique. They are shaped in clay and then carved to hint at plumage and feather shape. Each one measures roughly 4cm high by 6 cm long.
Crafted by hand in my garden studio in Sheffield.
I am keen to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible, and I try to recycle and reuse packaging but not at the expense of safe travel.
