Full description
Simply elegant pendant in copper. A beautiful stone which shines in hues of green and blues as the light reflects and refracts across the face of the bead. The stone is recycled from a semi precious necklace.
The design itself reminds me of the Elisabethan style jewellery pieces; with swirls and moves of the wire creating an elegant pendant. The stone itself is center stage complimented by the red copper colour of the wires.
The wire wrapping was achieve from 4 base wires which form the design as a whole but also the bail; the frame on which the stone sits. Each base wire is wrapped with a thinner wire hundreds of time; to create a sturdy hardened metal casing to the stone. In the process handmaking this copper jewellery no solder or glue was used; the full design keeps itself together through the weaving of the wires together. Each wire wrapped pendant in unique due to the tension of the wires used. Similar weaves and patterns can be used across pieces; but can not be recreated en masse.
Buying this pendant; you get a piece of jewellery made from non tarnish copper; and a piecer of wearable art that is unique in the world.
