Don't make a sound,
Scurrying past in a flash of blue and red,
Lights go off, are you in bed?
You can hear him scurry all through the night,
He's in a hurry, while you sleep tight,
Mending, fixing, feeding, cleaning,
To keep your farmstead and barn gleaming.
All he asks on Christmas Eve,
In that bowl of tasty porridge you leave,
A heap of butter he takes as his due,
Or else many tricks he will play on you.
