Thanks so much for stopping by. I'm in the process of having a little shop reshuffle so have created a 'Samples, seconds and sale' collection where you can find one-off sample pieces, some older stock at reduced prices along with a handful of seasonal bargains. I am also adding some new items on a weekly basis which you can find in my 'New for Spring' collection.
Due to Covid restrictions I am currently only visiting the post office twice a week and this is usually on a Monday and Thursday.
These teeny tiny pastel floral fabric flowers are based upon my flower garland bunting. The bunting consists of five flowers, each cut out by hand from Sanderson floral fabric, with a co-ordinating fabric centre. They are hand-stitched onto pale pink satin ribbon and fastened to bamboo skewers; all ready to pop on top of your favourite cake!
The flowers are double-sided so they can be seen from both sides of the cake. They have been made using recycled, or leftover snippets of fabric - in fact the floral fabric started life as a curtain made from this gorgeous Sanderson fabric - I love the honeysuckle fabric as it reminds me of a similar fabric I had in my bedroom when I was tiny! The bunting comes with its own co-ordinating storage bag so that they can be safely kept to be reused over and over again. The bamboo skewers can be washed and the bunting spot cleaned. Even the storage bag has been made using leftover curtain lining as I hate letting anything go to waste!
Each flower measures approximately 3cm across and the ribbon between skewers measures approximately 19cm. The cake shown measures 8 inches (20 cm) but if you needed extra ribbon for a larger cake I could cut this according to your requirements.
Perfect for birthdays, weddings, Mother's Day or just because a cake is worth celebrating!
Recycled, reusable, pretty and sustainable
I must confess to being something of a fabric hoarder and can never bear to thow anything away! I'm also always trying to find new and creative ways of using those tiny leftover snippets of fabric which are too small for a big project but too pretty to discard. I initially trialled this cake topper bunting when looking for ideas to decorate a birthday cake. I've been making larger versions of this bunting for a while now so thought that a miniaturised version would be absolutely perfect - and it was! I particularly love the honeysuckle design of this fabric and thought it would look gorgeous decorating a summery cake - gooseberry and elderflower perhaps?
