I found this beautiful vintage tablecloth at the York Car boot sale. Altho a bit sad, it definitely had potential. After laundering and pressing, I found enough pretty sections to make some special sets of lavender bags.

Full description
Lovely lavender, used for centuries to scent clothes, give you a good nights sleep, and keep away pesky moths. Pop them in a drawer for sweet smelling linens. This pretty duo of lavender bags are made from the corner of a vintage tablecloth, and stitched with old fashioned daisies. I couldn’t bear to split them up, so I am keeping them together in a pair. These would make a lovely housewarming present, as a gift for anyone learning to embroider, or to send a virtual hug to a friend.
The lavenders measure 9 cm by 9 cm with a hook for a clothes hanger or to simply hang up and admire the embroidery.
Nestling inside each one is a tiny muslin pillow, filled with lavender from Terrington in North Yorkshire.
The back is made from a different section of the same vintage tablecloth, and they are finished off with my own embroidered name tag.
I like to reuse if possible. Your bags will arrive wrapped in clean, recycled packaging from my hoard, and sent as Royal Mail 2nd class.
