This is a lovely swallow bird brooch, which comes in a black Jewellery box for safe keeping, it makes a lovely gift for anyone who is mad on birds.
The process I use to make my brooches, includes two kiln firings, then I hand paint the brooch with an underglaze paint and then dipped into a transparent shiny glaze, to give it, it's final finish.
I've attached the brooch finding with araldite to make sure it is secure.

I've recently been making a series of animal and bird brooches. I've always found the natural world to be a great source of inspiration and love sketching what I see. Transforming my sketches into 3D work and showing the beauty of nature as I see it. This series of swallows show the lovely contrast of colour the bird has but also the elegant shape of the bird.
