This is a lovely ceramic kingfisher brooch, which comes in a Black Jewellery box for safe keeping, it makes a lovely gift for anyone who is mad on birds. The brooch shows the glorious colours of a kingfisher, with it's speckled head and elegant beak.
The process i use to make my brooches, includes two kiln firings, then I hand paint the brooch with an underglaze paint and then dipped into a transparent shiny glaze, to give it, it's final finish.
I've attached the brooch finding with araldite to make sure it is secure.

I have always found nature to be a great inspiration for my creativity, be it drawing outside or painting animals I love, then transforming my sketches into clay creations.
