This Thistle Heart has been inspired by a combination of Folk Art/Country Style and my love of plants.
After rolling out the clay , then hand cutting the initial shape, the hearts are decorated with various plants that I have made casts from that are either seasonal, symbolic or healing in some way.
Choosing thin washes of under glazes to bring out the details that the cast has captured, finishing with a clear glaze to bring the colours to life.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

Full description
This single Thistle heart has been hand cut from a sheet of slab rolled clay, then decorated with a thistle, press moulded from a detailed cast made from the thistles that grow in my garden at home.
This wall piece has been strung with cotton chord and can be hung anywhere indoors.
The heart is 12 cm across at it's widest point, 12.5 cm in height and an approximate thickness of 0.5 cm.
After completion and careful drying the heart can be placed in the kiln for an initial firing before being coloured with thin washes of underglazes to bring out the fine details of the thistle in a painterly style.
Clear glaze is then poured over before the wall art being placed back in the kiln for a second firing.
The finished heart has a glossy finish.
