We all have our favourite mugs. I even have a favourite mug for coffee, another for tea and another for peppermint tea. Some friends like the one with a thin rim, or the heavy one, the plain handle or the wide base. People can be quite protective over their mugs too.

I wanted to make a range of mugs for everyone. All of us are different, all of us are special and unique. And I love making mugs for you.

+++++ Please note ....
The nature of studio pottery and handmade is that each piece is slightly different and therefore unique as glazes melt differently each time and clay has a memory. You would receive a mug very similar to the mug in the photo ++++ .

Full description

The Lotus Flower is known to represent beauty, fertility, prosperity, spirituality, rebirth and newness and eternity; to this list add victory of the spirit over that of wisdom, intelligence and knowledge to the blue lotus flower.

On the side of the mug there is a lovely raised circle with the an Indian stamp of the lotus flower pressed into it and higlighted in blue glaze.

I threw this mug on the potter's wheel using a buff stoneware clay. I then turned the base and added the handle and decoration before bisque firing the mug. I glazed it using a lovely green on the outside and a cloudy mauve glaze on the inside and again fired it, this time to 1240C stoneware making it strong and durable.

Approximately

Height: 9 cm

Width across the rim: 9 cm

My mugs may be all different but they look gorgeous as a family.

I sign my pieces with the initials REJM. My parents gave me a long name and then called me by my last!
