When I find these great old embroideries, I wonder who the anonymous seamstress was, and altho we will never know, I like to prolong the life of their nostalgic work by making them into something pretty and practical once again.

Full description
This very pretty embroidery is from a vintage tablecloth I found in York. I have made it into a large zip up purse or make up bag. With its pink daisies and pale green leaves scattered over the front and back, it would make a lovely present for someone who is interested in old embroidery, or as a practical little make up bag or purse for all the vintage fabric lovers out there.
The fabric has been backed onto cotton sheeting, but it is still soft.
It measures 20 cm by 16 cm and there is a bright pink zip opening of 20 cm.
There are two covered buttons on the front with leaf designs, and a finger hook in the top corner so you can hang it up and admire the work of this unknown embroiderer.
It is lined with a dusty pink and green floral cotton, and finished off with my own embroidered name tag.
I like to reuse where possible. Your bag will be sent out to you wrapped in clean, recycled packaging from my collection.
It will be posted out as Royal Mail 2nd class.
