I wanted to design a set of bowls and mugs that would look beautiful on the table at every mealtime. One that told the origin of how and where they were made

The clay these bowls were made from was dug up from our own island. The spiral shows the energy of our lives and the ancient physics of the potters wheel. The glazes reflect the colours that we see in our surrounding lowland pastures and mountains as the seasons change.

As all my work is handmade and hand glazed, and with the nature of studio pottery and the kiln gods each piece I make is slightly different and therefore unique. You will receive a bowl very similar to the ones in the photo.

Full description

A perfect bowl that can be used for every meal of the day.

A bowl that reminds me of a lovely Spring walk with heavy clouds above that are deciding what to do next.

I threw this bowl on the potters wheel using a strong white stoneware clay. I turned the base to make a foot ring. It was then fired to a bisque before being glazed in three contrasting and complimentary glazes and refired to 1220C.

The colours in this bowl include on the inside a rich mixture of blues and mauves, the rim an olive green, and the outside fresh clean greens.

Dimensions approximately:

Height 7.5 cm

Width 12 cm
