I recently started to add enamel to my copper and silver fused pieces, I have access to an enamel kiln once a year and decided to try enameling a few pieces. The first year I was very happy with the results. They don't look like traditional enameled pieces but but I really like them. The picture shows extra leather beyond the knots, this will be removed before posting, it allows the pendant to be changed to a cotton cord if required.

Full description

Circular copper pendant with fused silver spiral and dark blue enamel. The pendant is made by fusing silver wire to a copper disc with a blow torch. After cleaning and doming the pendant enamel is applied. The results are unpredictable, as the silver can melt in very different ways from one day to the next, I am not a very experienced enamel artist and my access to a kiln is very limited. I really like the result on this piece. Once the enamel is applied the piece needs to be cleaned again as the silver oxidises in the heat of the kiln. I then lightly heat the pieces of bare copper to give a patina.

The pendant hangs from a copper jump ring on a fine, leather thong which can be adjusted using two sliding knots.

The pendant measures 1" (2.5cm) across.
