Thanks for stopping by! Inspired by my walks and adventures in the UK's countryside and along its seaside, and with a desire to reduce my footprint on the planet, I upcycle found pottery shards, sea glass and scoria glass, into keepsake jewellery to ground you in connection to its story.... to a person, a place, a memory. When you purchase Unearthed Jewellery, you also receive the story that has been uncovered....where your shard was unearthed, and more. I am registered with the Edinburgh Assay office and a Gold Member of the British Guild of Jewellery Designers. All Unearthed jewellery is signed with a .925 fineness mark and UBL makers mark.

Connecting you to the land and history from where it came, the sea glass featured in these earrings was discovered on the beach in Beaumaris. Most lavender sea glass comes from older Pre World War I clear vintage canning jars and other glass containing manganese, a de-colourizer originally used to remove the green caused by the iron naturally found in sand. Some manganese dioxide decolourized bottles may date as early as the 1820's and as late as the 1930's. Over a period of many years the glass made with manganese turns lavender when exposed to sunlight. This is called "sun-purpled". You can also determine how old your glass is by any markings or bubbles.
Backing: Your sea glass shards are set into fine silver, so you don't have to worry about tarnishing over time. Sterling Silver earring posts ensure you shouldn't have to worry about any metal allergies or green earlobes.
This is the perfect jewellery gift for someone who wants to express their unique style, love of the ocean and desire to take care of the environment. Given the gift themes of the 3rd (glass), 11th (jewellery) and 25th (silver) wedding anniversaries - these earrings would make a creative, thoughtful wedding anniversary gift.
They will arrive gift-ready in a cotton pouch, along with their story, inside a tissue-lined box made from recycled materials.
These earrings were inspired by walks along the beach in Wales, especially on Anglesey and the history and charm of Beaumaris. These sterling silver earrings re-tell the stories of its past craftsmen and ground you in connection.... to a person, a place or a memory of Wales, its coast and heritage.
When you purchase a piece of Unearthed Jewellery, you also receive the provenance that has been uncovered....where it was unearthed, what it was from, and more.
