An elegant Labradorite pendant that features all the flashes of colour that you expect from this gemstone.
I have encased this beautiful Labradorite oval cabochon in green and gold Miyuki seed beads, using the bead weaving technique peyote. I chose green and gold as this particular cabochon shows a lot of green and yellow as it catches the light.
In the final picture I have tried to capture some of the flashes of colour that this cabochon displays.
The completed pendant measures approximately 27x20mm and hangs from a gold plated 45cm (18") snake chain, finished with a lobster claw clasp.
Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar family and is treasured by many for its remarkable play of colour, known as labradorescence. Usually grey-green or dark grey in colour, each stone is made up of layers that refract light as iridescent flashes of peacock blue, gold, pale green, or coppery red, depending on the individual stone.
