The Turtle dove population has seen vast decline over the last decade and now face the same extinction treat as the African elephant and lion. Once a familiar summer visitor to South-East England is now facing large decline with more than nine out of every 10 birds lost since the 1970s.

Research is taking place into reasons why, including changes in agricultural practice across Europe, which means a struggle to find food and nesting sites. The turtle dove is very vulnerable to being hunted as it migrates across two continents and is subjected to illegal hunting around the Mediterranean.

Full description

I have recently become aware of the vast number of British

animal species that are in serious decline. It upset me to think that species like the hedgehog were in danger of becoming extinct in the wild and that my grandchildren may never have the experience of seeing these animals in the natural world. I decided to take action on this catastrophe and I have embarked on a little project.

I have selected 20 of the endangered species and I will be creating limited edition lino prints for each of these. I will be giving 50% of my sales to the charity 'Peoples trust for endangered species' who help protect endangered species. I am very excited by this project and I hope you enjoy it to.

Printed on heavy weight, acid free paper with printing ink and individually hand painted with acrylic paint

Paper size - 14.8cm x 21cm

image measurements - 11cm x 11cm

The picture is sold unframed and signed and numbered on the front with pencil

50% to Charity of all sales go to 'The Peoples Trust for Endangered Species'

Designed by Ann-Marie Ison in Worcester
