Newspapers may seem black & white and full of bad news but hand spinning the paper into yarn reveals hidden colours and the words are given new life. Good news from bad, new stories from old ones - why not make this little piece of good news from bad, a piece of your story now?

Any colour in the yarn has come from the ink in the newspaper - I don't add colours!

Full description

A greetings card created with recycled newspaper & card - a little singing blue bird - perfect to send a little hello and love to someone who needs some TLC and loves birds.

The newspaper yarn used in these recycled greetings cards is carefully handspun from hand cut, thin strips of newspaper. I have tried spindles/shredders, but I find that using my fingers helps keep the yarn fine as possible as well as allowing me more control over the colours and textures produced. All the colours have been found in the newspaper!

I also think there is something important about knowing the newspaper has physically passed through the hands of the maker, which transforms the bad news stories and makes them a part of your stories as you send them to your friends and family.

Each card is individually hand crafted from recycled card and handspun newspaper yarn and comes with a kraft brown recycled envelope and wrapped in a compostable corn starch wrapper.
