I've been experimenting with fusing copper and silver together for a while, I began with simple wire designs and recently started adding pieces of scrap silver as well. I had a few failed silver clay pieces that didn't fire properly and some odd bits of jewellery that I'd picked up from time to time. This one is a cheap silver St Christopher pendant, very thin and not very well made, I think it makes a nice centre to this pendant.

Full description
A circular pendant made from copper with silver wire and scrap silver fused to it's surface.
This is made by placing the silver onto the copper and applying a blow torch to it. The resulting design may resemble what I planned or be totally different. I have got better at controlling the effects but sometimes the silver just does it's own thing regardless of what I try to do.
The piece is cleaned of the firestain and then domed slightly and polished after re-applying heat to give an interesting patina to the copper.
The centre of this pendant was once a rather cheap St Christopher pendant which I bought because I wanted the chain for another project. I had already started melting it, just to see what would happen, and added it to this piece along with some wire of different weights.
I've called it 'Orbits' because I think it looks a bit like satellites around a planet.
The pendant is hanging from a length of fine leather thong which is adjustable so the pendant can be worn at any length.
