I am happy to wrap and send gifts direct to recipients with a note - just specify their delivery address when you check out (I use track 24 or special delivery so you can follow it round the country to the recipient). Full description
These sterling silver earrings feature reversible drops of bezel set fordite - when they are not being worn the drops can be slid off the back of the hooks and turned around revealling the different pattern and colour palette on the back. The front has a finely banded bullseye pattern in white, red, yellow and grey, the back a wider chevron pattern in black, white, and red. So what is fordite? Fordite is an accidentally made industrial by product (so this is a great bit of upcycling) - when car panels were painted over spray paint would slowly build up in the booths layer by differently coloured layer. After it had been baked numerous times it had to be removed and some bright spark realised that it could be cut and polished to show the interesting pattern and numerous colours. The material in these earrings came from one of the Detroit factories in the early 2000's. Changes to the way cars are painted mean that this material is no longer formed and it is becoming harder to come by.
Measures 1 3/4 inches from top to bottom (45mm) and 1/2 inch across the widest point (14mm). Fordite is comparitively lightweight so these larger earrings are still comfortable to wear all day long.
