I love the colour of little ringed plovers and had a driftwood block that made me think of photos I had seen of the birds sitting on their eggs on the beach. The colour was perfect and I am really pleased with how it turned out.

Full description
This little ringed plover is hand carved from jelutong and hand painted with artists acrylics. It has glass eyes and is sitting on a driftwood block which is 7.5cm x 9.5cm. The bird is 14cm from beak to tail and is finished with wax giving it a soft shine. The piece is 9.5cm tall overall.
