This is a remake of my original smaller card.
When I first designed this card it was a way to use my beautiful, rare piece of ornamental type (typesetting is an impressive skill I’ve long been in awe of) using strips of paper left over from the sheets torn for my other cards. I was going to abandon it because it’s so difficult to achieve without failures. But I had such a lovely comment from a customer that I’ve reinstated as a full sized version of which I’ve printed only 30.
I designed it originally as a little message for Mr. R - In our early life together I used to sneak small ‘Love Tokens’ into his luggage when he had trips to make - like a small sprinkle of sea-glass, or sand from the beach, or paper-cuttings confetti left from things I’d been making... So when he unpacked or opened a book to read, my memento would cascade out. - I don’t see why we shouldn’t all give each other little love messages whenever we feel like it :)

An original letterpress hand-printed card on gorgeous-to-touch specialist, traditionally made, Artist Quality Paper which is torn to size by me & hand folded ensuring the precious 'deckle edge’ (a property of the ancient paper-making method) is included
This Heart is hand-inked & printed, in a deep rich vermillion ink, using a rare beautiful piece of ornamental type. info on the back hand-set in old letterpress, hand inked & printed on my ancient Press.
:: 250gsm Specialist Artist Paper hand torn to size
:: Card size is 85mm x 115 mm
:: Recycled Envelope size is 95mm - 122mm
:: Sealed into a compostable cornstarch clear-bag
:: Inside is blank for you to write your own personal message
:: Cards will be sent carefully packed in a repurposed board protected, recycled package
It's very hard to convey, in a photograph, the truly beautiful physical quality of the ink & it's colour on this gorgeously soft-to-touch paper
Cards will vary slightly due to the nature of hand production making each card unique & original.
I’ve included photos of the metal type because it’s just so lovely. But, obviously, it's not for sale :)
