Please enjoy browsing and should you buy a doll she will be packaged in an organza bag. I have been given literally hundreds and will use them until they run out rather than let them go to landfill. Also I have been asked why I don't often repeat combinations of fabric with the dolls. It is because I tend to buy remnant stock where I can, tiny pieces of fabric that are too small for most people to use. So often I have only enough to make one doll. Thank you and my warmest wishes xx
I had and am still having a Marie Antoinette moment, all starting from Sophia Copolla's very pretty film from 2006. I just fell in love with the wildly decadent dresses. My little lady has to be Amalia because she is far too tubby for Marie Antoinette herself. Had such fun with this little lady and I hope you like her too.

Marie Amalia is a handmade cloth doll. She is stitched from tea dyed calico to my own pattern. She has a painted and embroidered face, her face is painted with the rouge colouring very much in vogue in the day. She has hand styled wool tops for hair. Her hair sports a feather and bead detail and she has crystal beads throughout her hairstyle.
Her costume is based upon the French court dresses of the 1770's and is a day dress in baroque styled cotton. She has a polonaise skirt, with contrasting underskirt and embellished multiple bows and ribbons. She boasts tiny beaded and ribboned leather shoes.
From the tip of her toes to the tip of her feathered hair she stands 17 inches tall and she has button joints to her arms with embellished sleeves. She sits nicely or has a ring on her back so that she can hang on the wall. She has a serene face and she will make a lovely companion.
Sadly because of small parts and button joints she is not suitable as a toy or for young children.
