Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique. One of my very own designs and I think it is quite stunning and very special.
It is a striking 'picture' of a setting sun, a sunset, with sea and fields in the foreground. The picture is framed in clear waterglass which has a slight ripple for good effect and then with a strengthening border of twisted wire.
The sun's rays are made from 5 different colours and textures of red and amber glass and the sun is a sparkly texture of gold. The fields are in 3 different types of green and green / brown streaked glass and the sea in 2 shades of blue.
This is beautifully bright and cheerful and casts lovely colours when it hangs in the light of a window.
It is 5.25 inches square and hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached at either side of the top.
My pieces are all unique. I use different shades and textures of glass to ensure that everything I make, even when to the same pattern, is different.
The 5th photo is of the previous setting sun so you can see that though to the same design, each is unique.
