Helen Burgess Jewellery, is literally just me Helen, I make jewellery from my shed studio in my back garden, my bedroom office and anywhere in the house in the evening. Much of my work is inspired by the nature of my home island of Mersea, near Colchester, Essex. As well as my love of simple design and textured metal surfaces.
The materials I regularly make jewellery from are recycled sterling silver, recycled gold, sterling silver, copper, 14ct gold filled, and occasionally brass. Semi-precious stones, precious stones and beads are also featured in my work.
Unfortunately due to new laws for a small business it is no longer workable without the threat of being fined to send my jewellery to the EU including Northern Ireland without a representative. Sending my work elsewhere in the world also seems increasingly more expensive and complicated for a one woman band to contend with. My deepest heartfelt apologies for this inconvenience.

Full description
Handmade recycled fine silver and recycled sterling silver lichen stud earrings. I found twig covered in lichen from the roadside not long after the trees and hedges near me had been cut back. I decided to place moulding putty over the lichen to form a reusable mould of the lichen. Pushing fine silver clay into the mould, taking it out and then firing the impression of the lichen in a kiln. The end result is a slightly smaller solid recycled fine silver version of the lichen. Recycled sterling silver stud pins and scroll backs finish off the stud earrings.
These studs measure, one at 8mm x 7mm and the other earring measures 7mm x 7mm.
