Full description
So there they were, a pair of curtains lying in a skip, clean and bright among the sawn-off wood and window frames. I rescued them of course, unpicked them and washed them and here is one of the saved lengths. It's so lovely, a mid-weight cotton with a slightly chalky texture and a design of big, blousy peonies with a faded feel. There are creases where I unpicked the hem.
It measures 1.2 metres squared and is not heavy at all, would work as a craft fabric.
Whatever you choose to use it for, you should feel very pleased with yourself that this wasn't discarded and buried with all the other stuff we waste.
