Hi and welcome to Born Again Bears. This name began as the first bears I made were as keepsakes and memories, made by bringing precious items back to new beginnings as special bears to cherish.
I enjoy making all different types and sizes of bears and indeed mice and have enjoyed becoming part of the Folksy family as an outlet for this.
International postage is a new area for me and I will happily combine postage. Please contact me for a price for this and I will do what I can to keep the cost as low as possible.
Matilda is a project to reuse fabrics that wouldn't be otherwise be used in a beautiful way.

Full description
I would like you to meet Matilda. She is a very traditional bear standing at around 19 inches tall and fully jointed with nut and bolt joints. Matilda has beautiful English glass eyes and embroidered facial features.
I have hand sewn her from an original Victorian chenille tablecloth and used the velvet edging from this for the pawpads and ear linings. There is a little wear to the fabric which only adds to the traditional aged look of Matilda.
Matilda's dress is made using cotton from a vintage petticoat and her shawl is an antique piece of crocheted lace which is fastened at the shoulder with a vintage clip earring (from my precious and too good to throw away stash). I have added a crocheted flower to her dress and to her ear.
Matilda is not suitable as a toy for young children but would make a lovely addition to a collection.
I will post this item using Royal Mail 24hr tracked and she will be wrapped in tissue safely inside a box and including her name label with my Born Again Bears stamp on it.
