Full description
Golden Beach is a piece of mounted textile art depicting the sea and a golden sandy beach under a blue sky. The seascape piece is made by layering a variety of different fabrics. The sky is a piece of streaked pale blue fabric on which I've used free-motion embroidery to add some seagulls. The sea consists of layers of different fabrics and selvedge edges in many shades of blue, along with crinkled yarn and lace. The sandy beach is made from golden yellow fabric along with two strips of fabric with selvedge edges in taupe and golden-brown. I've added scattered seed beads as pebbles, a starfish shell, a gemstone chip, some crumpled and frayed cream muslin and three coconut shell buttons. The artwork is mounted on a square acid-free backing board, finished with a white aperture mount, and is ready to be framed. It is presented in a cellophane sleeve for protection.
This original textile seascape artwork would make a lovely and unique gift for someone who loves the beach and the sea.
The approximate measurements of the artwork are:
Mount - approx. 8 inches (20cm) square. Aperture/textile art – approx. 6 inches (15cm) square.
