Inspired by my love of books, vintage clothing and Regency dancing, my creations are often one off pieces, sewn, crocheted or crafted with paper or clay and filled with imagination (and sometimes lavender!)
I saw Ann Woods free cat pattern and thought that it would be ideal to make as a page saver. I loved the idea of having the soothing scent of lavender just drifting up whilst reading, and the rice added weight to give it a tactile and comforting feel - it also holds down more pages too!

This fairground themed cat is loaded with rice and organic lavender, ready to save your place in a book and offer soothing, emotional support whilst you read.
Fairground cat will keep a book open ready to continue reading or peep out of the pages if you want to close it. When you're reading, place the weighted cat on your knee or shoulder and breath in the delightful scent of organic lavender from Provence. Alternatively, hold the cat in your hand and listen to the soft whisper of rice and flowers.
Small Cat measures 14cm x 12cm approximately (5 1/2" x 5")
NOT A TOY Keep out of reach of small children, possible choking hazard.
Check periodically for any damage and repair as necessary - if used correctly this should last many years and maybe even become your next family heirloom!
Protect from humidity, if it gets wet, they can be placed inside a laundry bag and tumble dried but may lose their scent quicker. I recommend air drying (on a radiator or in full sun) thoroughly before using again.
These cute cats have been machine and hand stitched with love and care using various pre-washed (non-bio powder), cotton and poly-cotton fabrics, and new or pre-loved buttons.

Lavender aroma can last up to ten years, if you find yours has diminished after a few years they can be revived with one or two drops of lavender essential oil.
