January Birthstone - Garnet
February Birthstones - Amethyst and Jasper
Amethyst (purple quartz) is the birthstone for Aquarius and February, and the stone for the 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries.
Amethyst is also associated with St Valentine.
It was believed he wore an amethyst ring engraved with a cupid to enable young soldiers to recognise him.
Emperor Claudius 11, believing married men made bad soldiers, had forbidden soldiers to wed, but Valentine would conduct secret marriage ceremonies.
Angelite is a pale blue form of Gypsum, also known as Angel Stone.
It is a soothing, calming stone, thought to enhance spiritual awareness.

Full description
Dainty Amethyst and Angelite beaded gemstone necklace set with sterling silver.
A centrepiece of alternating 6mm Angelte and Amethyst beads, highlighted with 1.8mm sterling silver spacers, with two trios of 4.5mm faceted Amethyst to either side, also highlighted with silver and separated by five 4mm Angelite and Amethyst rounds.
The necklace continues with alternating 4mm Angelite and Amethyst, and fastens with a Tibetan silver sun toggle clasp.
Amethyst is the birthstone for February.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, this would make a lovely gift for a birthday, anniversary, Valentine or Mother's Day, or a treat for yourself.
This gemstone necklace measures approximately 17 inches (43cm), contact me if you would like it made shorter or longer.
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
