Something new for me. Abstract is not something I normally attempt but after attending a local workshop where all the materials were recycled this little hoop come about.

Abstract textile art displayed in a wood embroidery hoop - Curved Dance Macabre.
A looped piece of black plastic wire couched onto the fabric with a dark grey thread. A small rubber ring encloses a stack of beads. Circles from crisp packets and wallpaper attached to the fabric with a button and looped beads made from plastic tubing balance out the narrow piping. Adjacent to this circular design is a ruffled black ribbon and a wrapped pipe cleaner twisted into a leaf and floral design with a wallpaper circle to add balance.
The name Curved Dance Macabre reflects the circular design dancing across the fabric in a macabre red, black and grey.
Hand stitched pieces of reclaimed plastic, paper and fabric with a few beads from my stash.
Backed with a piece of light coloured felt.
The hoop measures 15 cms in diameter.
Stitched onto a piece of deep pink-red wool fabric.
